As exhibition catalogs goes this one is worth the high price tag for such a slight volume.There are numerous volumes out on the work of Mr.Diebenkorn with a plethora a qualified essayists.Words are fine but in the end it is the picture that holds the viewer. We are at the threshold of the 21st. century where we are reaching technical heights. Unfortunately this is not reflecting in the majority of the published offerings of Mr.Diebenkorn.Most volumes are either horribly color matched or flat and lack the subtlety the work deserves.I have several volumes of Mr.Diebenkorn's work and use this volume as a point of reference.
